The cultural foodie phenomenon of pop-up restaurants has been a huge trend, but with their transient nature and the need to keep your ear the ground you can sometimes miss out on the best locally sourced and homemade fodder. So let me give you a little heads up on a secret I’ve discovered…
Falmouth Pop-up has an underground cult-like popularity and serves up the most delicious foods in the most unusual locations. A derelict shop, country manor green house and coastal nook beneath the cliffs have all seen a flurry of cooking, laughter and gluttony. The location dictates the menu and it can be just about anywhere. Run by a wonderfully energetic lady called Annie who brings recipe inspiration from her travels (Moroccan is a particular favourite) and everything is locally sourced and homemade. The clandestine supper is a local secret well worth getting in on.
Running throughout the summer and autumn, you can find the Falmouth Pop-up on Facebook; enjoy the thrill of turning up at somewhere unexpected and having an amazing meal with almost strangers who share the same enthusiasm for the concept and really good food.
